Military Affairs Committee
The Chamber strives to provide a link that encourages communication between the military and the Valdosta-Lowndes County business community. The Chamber recognizes Moody’s annual contribution of more than $448 million to Valdosta-Lowndes County. Seeing the huge impact Moody has on our community, the Chamber provides opportunities for members to participate in special events designed to welcome Moody to our area. Chamber members can sponsor Red Carpet Events, educate Moody newcomers about Valdosta-Lowndes County at Right Start Briefings, attend Airman of the Quarter ceremonies and participate in Super Sports day. Military Affairs committee members also have the opportunity to tour Moody AFB.

Community Blueprint
The Chamber's Military Affairs Committee was instrumental in spearheading the Community Blueprint initiative, which helps local leaders assess and improve their community's support for military families. For more information or articles concerning the Community Blueprint initiative, click here.
Red Carpet Events
Red Carpet parties provide a quarterly forum for new Moody Air Force Base officers and senior NCO’s to meet business and government leaders. Additionally, these events provide a positive and tangible welcome for military families to the Valdosta-Lowndes County area. This is a way to let our patriots know that they are a valued and appreciated part of our community. Guests are able to enjoy a memorable party at the beautiful Ocean Pond house.
Airmen of the Quarter
Each quarter, Military Affairs Committee members are invited to attend Moody’s Quarterly Awards, which honor Airmen and Civilians at the base who have excelled in their jobs.
