The Chamber Ambassadors honored South Georgia Connections as the Leading Business of the Week for Dec. 3, 2018.
For more than 60 years, South Georgia Connections has provided services welcoming newcomers to the community by providing the resource guide “FYi* South Georgia”, which is distributed throughout the region. “We are delighted to offer this guide free and as it says on the front cover, it is ‘priceless’ to the communities that we service due to the support of local businesses,” said Patti Minton. South Georgia Connections offers a personable and customize service for newcomers to the community. “Our service connects newcomers with the community to help them bloom where they are planted,” said Minton, “even if it is for a short time or if they retire in the area.” Minton and Karen Reissiger have welcomed newcomers to the area for the past 25 years. They understand it can be overwhelming to move to a new community and search for businesses and services. “We feel this is a ministry, as we help families arriving in town to find jobs, friends, a church home, and assist with the over whelming task of getting settled in a new community,” said Minton, who serves as a Chamber Ambassador. “This is very rewarding to see how our service has helped families reestablish in their new communities with the trusted businesses we represent.” South Georgia Connections is a proud member of the Valdosta-Lowndes County Chamber of Commerce. “We feel being part of the Chamber of Commerce gives credibility to our service for those who don’t know us and allows us to meet new businesses arriving in town” said Minton. The Leading Business of the Week program is designed to recognize members who have partnered with the Chamber for at least five years. Colson Business Systems proudly sponsors the 2018 Leading Business of the Week program. For more information, visit www.ValdostaChamber.com/Leading-Business-of-the-Week.
