The Chamber of Ambassadors honored Stifel as Leading Business of the Week for April 30, 2018.
Barry Barr, Branch Manager, submitted the following in regards to Stifel and its relationship with the community and the Chamber: The Valdosta Branch of Stifel is supported by the 6th largest full-service investment firm in terms of Financial Advisors. Since 1890, Stifel has been providing financial and retirement planning, trust and estate planning, research, investment banking, and related financial services to individual investors, businesses, foundations, and municipalities. The Valdosta Branch serves clients in 25 states, and overseas, and is the largest investment advisory firm in Lowndes and surrounding counties. The Valdosta Branch is proud of its distinguished past that began in 1958 as the first financial advisory firm in South Georgia. The Financial Advisors at Stifel in Valdosta firmly believe in community service. By choice, every Advisor gives of their time, and money, to many local, state, national, and even international organizations. As a supporter of the arts, the branch is a major sponsor of the Annette Howell Turner Center for the Arts Presenters Series and the Valdosta Symphony Orchestra. Rather than spending thousands of dollars on advertising, the Stifel Valdosta Branch chooses to give back to the community. The Stifel difference is the people that are allowed to make individual and local decisions. A firm where the client comes first, Stifel provides its Advisors with the resources they need with the freedom to do what is best for their clients. Our culture is not that of a bank or a typical mega-brokerage firm, but one that gives the Advisor and their client the opportunities to succeed. Advocacy provided by the Chamber is the most important pillar for Stifel. Promoting business and South Georgia living provides new opportunities for our Advisors to help others. While our services provide for every age group, a healthy and growing investment firm relies on a diverse and growing community. From young families to retirees, Moody AFB, and businesses, the Chamber is directly responsible for successfully promoting our community’s growth. The Valdosta-Lowndes Chamber of Commerce is the cornerstone of our community. The ability to advocate, build, connect, and promote, the area’s businesses is essential to every thriving community. Dedicated members and strong leadership make our Chamber an invaluable asset for everyone. The Leading Business of the Week program is designed to recognize members who have partnered with the Chamber for at least five years. The 2018 Leading Business of the Week program is proudly sponsored by Colson Business Systems. For more information, visit www.ValdostaChamber.com/Leading-Business-of-the-Week.
