The Chamber Ambassadors honored Whitehead Industrial Hardware in a ribbon cutting ceremony on May 17, 2018.
Whitehead Industrial Hardware, a division of Miller Hardware Company, has always been a family business. When the Miller family purchased Whitehead back in 1972, it served as a wholesale hardware store at the time. Today, Whitehead is the complete industrial supply source for all of South Georgia and North Florida. When asked why they love what they do, Jonathan Miller, owner, stated “As an independent, family business, we take great pride in our relationships. That’s why we want to make something very clear. We may have expanded our showroom, but make no mistake — our commitment to product knowledge and customer service will never be compromised.” Over the past several decades, the Miller family has overcome many challenges in their industry - from new technology and equipment to the ebb and flow of a changing economy. Through this, they realized that their customers have also changed. They were able to successfully overcome significant industry challenges along the way, and their needs have evolved. Valdosta’s needs have changed as well, and they know it’s important to grow and adapt in order to meet those needs. “We’re excited for this opportunity to grow our business in a way that allows us to better serve our community,” says Miller. One of the things that sets them apart from their competition is the experience of their sales representatives. With over 400 combined years of experience, they truly care about providing you with the right tools for the job. You’ll still have access to the same expert advice, support and expansive inventory from over 1200 manufacturers that you’ve come to expect from us — now in an even better location. They also take pride in their ecommerce channel. The website allows their customers to have access to the products, resources and advice that Whitehead Industrial provides, even when they are off site as well as after hours. As always, they will deliver to your jobsite, business or municipality in over 37 counties. Or, you can take advantage of their counter pickup services if that’s more convenient. Their goal at Whitehead Industrial Hardware is to provide their customers with the tools and equipment they need in the timeliest and most helpful way possible. Whitehead Industrial Hardware prides themselves on longevity. They measure their success through customer experiences with Whitehead Industrial Hardware. Their mission has always been to provide the best service possible and to do that they have had to adapt along the way. They may update some of their ways, but they are still your locally owned and independent hardware source that’s dedicated to serving its customers. The Valdosta-Lowndes Chamber has worked closely with Whitehead Industrial Hardware helping them form many valuable relationships amongst the community.” Many of our close customers and business partners are Chamber members. I believe the Chamber is the conduit for local businesses to form and grow relationships with one another, “states Miller. When asked about the ceremony, Jonathan Miller says “We view this event as a celebration of our hometown Valdosta, our friends and neighbors. We consider ourselves a well-established business, yet humbly marketed. We want to publicize what we offer to the community, while recognizing the individuals who have gotten us to where we are today. Part of this ribbon cutting includes an award presentation to Wiregrass graduates. These individuals will be impacting our community through a skilled trade. We want to honor their hard work and recognize the great career opportunities they’ve created themselves.” Whitehead Industrial Hardware is located at 104 South Lee Street in Valdosta, GA.
